About Us | Trusted Pediatric Dentist Near You

Our mission at Steel City Pediatric Dentistry is to make your kiddos excited to visit the dentist- with a friendly, hometown Pittsburgh feel! We pride ourselves in explaining everything to kids in terms that make sense, in order to alleviate their fears. Educating the parents and giving them all treatment options is something we feel is important, as every child and every situation is unique. Dr. Meyers has taken many continuing education courses to be able to offer top-notch care, including white (zirconia) crowns and laser frenectomies and tongue-tie releases.

Meet the Doctor

Dr. Alexis Meyers

Dr. Alexis Meyers was born a Florida girl. Although the beach is pretty, she did NOT love the heat! Her mom was born and raised in Irwin, PA, and those family ties and Yinzer roots always brought Dr. Meyers back to the Keystone State. From a young age, she always enjoyed going to Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates games. She has come to love the change in seasons, the pierogi festival, and the many night markets around Sewickley throughout the year.

Jessica Smith - Dental Hygienist

Hi! I’m Jessica. I grew up in Butler, PA. I went to Pitt for Dental Hygiene, and I have been doing pediatric dental hygiene for 24 years! I love working with little kiddos and being able to make getting your teeth clean a fun experience!  I have two beautiful daughters, Myah, 17, and Macy, 13. I like to read novels and walk around the cute little town I live in.

Melanie Turngren - Office Manager

Hi! I’m Melanie. I grew up in North Huntingdon, PA, and later raised my kids in Daytona Beach, FL. Not many people can say they have the pleasure of working with their child, (Dr. Meyers)...  but also that they love their job! The most enjoyable part of my position is meeting so many wonderful families! Every day presents new challenges and opportunities that make my job so fulfilling. When I am not at the office, I have a side hustle - collecting and selling vintage! I also love to spend time with my family and my sweet pug, traveling, and trying new restaurants and shops out around the city!
